New Jersey State Elks Association
The New Jersey State Elks Association with its 117 Elks lodges support our local communities. Through our programs we help children learn about sports and leadership, like our Soccer Shoot and Hoop Shoot contests along with our Drug Awareness programs. We also give out scholarships, one being our most Valuable Student scholarship and we also have a scholarship for children with special needs.
Our state project is called Elks Camp Moore, this camp is for children with special needs. The camp is totally setup for children with special needs including their swimming pool, campfire area, play areas, and arts & crafts area. All the children have their own councelor to help them at the camp. And the campers are sponsored by local Elks lodges with no cost to the families.
The Veterans committee, since the early days of Elkdom, has always been there for our Veterans. This committee has holiday parties, picnics, bingos, ball game trips, and dinners to name a few. Remember our motto; as long as there are veterans we will never forget them.
We also support our Troops and Veterans with our Army of Hope committees assisting families who have had immediate family members called to active duty with the military reserve or National Guard. Our Army of Hope committee of volunteers will be at the ready to help families of those patriots called to serve our nation. For more than 135 years the Elks have been aiding their communities and making America a better place to live. They continue this mission of “Service one patriot’s home at a time”.
